Nearly two years after the election of President Obama, Senate Minority leader, Mitch McConnell, answered a question poised by the National Journal. McConnell’s response would play out like manna from Democrat heaven. Senator McConnell mentioned that the public’s “top political priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a second term”.

Immediately following Senator McConnell’s comments, individuals on the left started criticizing so-called Republican obstructionism for the failed stimulus package, the rising unemployment, and stumbling economy. Such accusations have continued to play a major role in the current political discourse.
